7 Seals of Revelation Explained

The 1st 4 seals are evil spirits that were released in the earth. Zechariah had a similar vision to John of 4 horsemen, and they were the same colors, in Zechariah 6:1-5. We know they are evil because of the destruction they bring. These horsemen gain power as we progress through time, as evil men give these spirits and ideologies power and authority.

Zechariah 6:1-5 “And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass. In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses; And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses. Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord? And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.”

1st Seal – The Spirit of Antichrist Is Released

Revelation 6:1-2 “And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.”

The first sign that this is the antichrist spirit is the fact that the horse is white. We know that Jesus returns on a white horse, but this spirit is trying to imitate Jesus with the white horse. The crown represents great authority, which shows that this spirit will have authority over a large group of people. The bow confirms that this spirit wants to conquer the world and put it under its authority.

Areas Where This Spirit Manifests

Roman Catholic Church  – Tried to conquer the world through “Jesus” with the crusades. The pope wears all white and travels in white vehicles; he heavily associates himself with the color white. Catholicism is a pagan religion in a Christian mask, and the popes are totally antichrist in the sense that they believe that they represent God on earth. Being antichrist isn’t limited to blatantly hating Christ, but trying to be him and depicting yourself as a “God’s representative on earth” is both antichrist and blasphemy.

United Nations – The United Nations is the most open antichrist form of government. They openly express their goals of a one-world government, with a one-world religion and monetary system. The Bible prophecied that this would happen and that the man of sin, the Antichrist, would lead this new world order. The United Nations, like the Catholic Church, uses all-white vehicles and heavily associates themselves with that color. Their tanks, helicopters and cars are all white with the letters “UN” in black. The United Nations is clearly the 7 headed 10 horned beast system of Revelation, and they will be lead by the man of sin.                 

Council on Foreign Relations – The Council on Foreign Relations, like the United Nations, pushes for a 1 world government. Similar to the United Nations, they are supposed to be “peacekeepers” and help resolve foreign conflicts. They are so open that they are antichrist that it is displayed in their logo.

The Antichrist spirit has manifested heavily in our government. It was released first and has had the most time to gain power and influence in the earth. The spirit of Antichrist will reach it’s greatest height in the Tribulation, where satan will be worshiped as God.

Do not be deceived by the antichrist spirit, as many will come in His name and many false prophets will arise.

Revelation 6:3-4 “And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.”

As we saw white the white horse, not only are the actions significant, but the color of the horse is too. Communism is heavily associated with red, and is sometimes referred to as “the red spirit”. This horse takes peace from the earth, which is evident with the constant war between communism and capitalism, along with the many Communist revolutions of the world. This horse causes people to kill each other, as there is no peace. An estimated 45 million people were killed in Mao Zedong’s Communist regime in China, along with 7 million killed by Pol Pot’s Communist regime in Cambodia. An estimated 9 million people were killed in the Russian Revolution, with millions more perishing. It is estimated that 100 million people were killed in Communist revolutions and regimes.

The Communist spirit, like the Antichrist spirit will reach its greatest heights in the tribulation. In Revelation 17, we see that the beast turns red, which is a sign that the beast system will have communist principles.

3rd Seal – The Spirit of Famine and Economic Upheaval Is Released

Revelation 6:5-6 “And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”

This horseman is the easiest to understand, as it is clearly an attack on food and money. A measure of wheat for a penny (denarius) is a parallel to an entire day’s wages for one meal. There will not be enough food for everyone. Economic upheaval will be the root of this famine and lack of resources. Whether it is a stock market crash or many crops succumb to stem rust, there will be a major event that will affect food and money worldwide. Food will be scarce, and prices will skyrocket. Current day events like COVID-19 and looting are only adding flames to the fire. Our economy is terrible already, and essential small businesses having to close doesn’t help. Oil and wine are symbols of wealth, and this goes to show that the “1% of the 1%” won’t be harmed. Venezuela’s Economic Crisis is a test run of what could happen in the world if this horseman reaches full power.

4th Seal – The Pale Horse?

Revelation 6:7-8 “And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”

The 4th seal takes some research to understand it, as the horse is NOT pale. The book of Revelation was written in Greek, and the word used for pale is “chloros”. We see this root in the word chlorophyll, which is what makes plants green. The word chloros means green, but can be translated as pale or pale green. The most likely occurrence is that the translators used the alternate translation of pale, instead of the primary one of green, as there are no green horses. Even through this error, God wanted us to know this horse was green, and here’s why:

4th Seal – The Spirit of Islam Is Released

The green horseman is the spirit of Islam, and the ideologies it brings. The biggest misconception with this is that people believe that this horse kills 1/4th of the earth. The verse says that this horse has POWER over 1/4th of the earth, not that it kills them. This horseman causes the people it has authority over to kill with the sword, hunger, death and beasts of the earth. There is a comma between every statement, which shows separation and brings clarification.

1/4th of the earth follows the ideologies of Islam, which is where the power over 1/4th of the earth is manifested. There are an estimated 1.9 billion Muslims, with the Earth’s population being an estimated 7.6 billion people: This is exactly 1/4th. The fact that the rider’s name was Death and Hell followed him shows the extreme demonic influence and love of death. We see this manifested through the jihadists and radical Muslim groups. Death is honored, especially if it was because you were attacking an infidel. Surah 47:4 of the Quran tells Muslims to strike the neck of an infidel and behead them. Christians being beheaded and tormented in the Middle-east is another manifestation of death and hell, along with the different ways John said the green horseman would kill. Christianity is almost wiped out in the Middle-east, which shows that this is a plot from the pits of hell. While not all Muslims hate and attack Christians, those who do justify it because they are following what Muhammad did and the words of the Quran.

The spirit of Islam will reach its full power in the Tribulation as the antichrist of the Bible will be the Mahdi to the Muslims. Muslims will only accept a direct descendant of Muhammad as their Mahdi, which all but ensures that the antichrist will be a Muslim. This also lines up with Isaiah 10 calling him the “Assyrian” and the current conflicts between Muslims and Jews, which explains why the antichrist specifically targets Jews along with Christians. Furthermore, followers of Hinduism, Buddhism, and New Age Spiritualism are looking for a world spiritual teacher, regardless of race or ethnic background. The antichrist fit everyone’s expectations of a savior, which means he will have to be a direct descendant of Muhammad, thus making him a Muslim.

5th Seal – The Cry of the Martyrs

Revelation 6:9-11 “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.”

This seal is self-explanatory, as it is the martyrs crying out for their blood to be avenged. It is no coincidence that this seal is opened after we see the Spirit of Islam released, who martyrs Christians and wants to eradicate our belief. I am unsure if this seal was opened already or will be opened in the future. This is an event in heaven, and there is no way to know if this happened already. All we know is that it happens before the martyrdom of the Christians is complete, which is why they are told to wait.

6th Seal – The 2nd Coming of Jesus

Revelation 6:12-17 “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

The 6th seal is the 2nd coming of Jesus. Matthew 24:29-31 says, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

It is clear that Revelation 6:12-17 is the exact same as the 2nd coming described by Jesus in Matthew 24:29-31. The sun goes dark, the moon doesn’t give off its light, the stars fall from heaven and the wicked men of the earth are fearful of this day. The day of Jesus’s return will be an amazing day for some, but a terrible day for others. I pray that you are on the right side of this, and not on the receiving end of God’s wrath.

7th Seal – Silence In Heaven For Half An Hour

Revelation 8:1 “And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.”

There isn’t much to this, just that heaven is silent for 30 minutes. We do not know why, and I do not want to speculate.

In Conclusion

As you see, the seals are a mix of spirits being released and heavenly events. We see that the 2nd coming of Jesus is the 6th seal, so there cannot be 7 more trumpets and vials.
