7 Trumpets of Revelation Explained

The 7 seals were a mix of spiritual events and spirits being released. With the trumpets, 6/7 are major world events, with 5 of them already happening.

1st Trumpet – World War 1

Revelation 8:7 “The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.”

World War 1 was the biggest war in history, at the time. The hail and fire mingled with blood is referencing the heavy artillery and burning arrows that were rained down. Weapons like flamethrowers, burning arrows, mortars and poison gas was used in the war, which is what destroyed the green grass and 1/3rd of the earth’s trees. From John’s view in heaven, people raining down bombs and burning arrows could look like hail and fire, and the mingled with blood part is imagery of the mass death and bloodshed this caused. 2nd Trumpet – World War 2

Revelation 8:8-9 “And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.”

World War 2 was, and still is, the largest war in mankind’s history. World War 2 also marked a shift in world power, with the US becoming the dominant world power. In World War 2, there were collectively 105,127 ships involved in World War 2. Out of these 105,127, a total of 36,387 were destroyed by the end of the war. Mathematically, 34% of the ships were destroyed, which is 1/3rd. Though there can be an argument made that 1/3rd is 33%, both 33% and 34% are acceptable as 1/3rd. Breaking 100% into equal thirds is mathematically impossible, as there is always a percent left over. This is why 2/3 is viewed as 67% instead of 66%, there has to be a 34% added in some way.

A third part of the sea becoming blood, is later explained as 1/3rd of the sea creatures dying. Before and during and after the war, the US, Russia and other world powers tested nukes underwater before using them. Hundreds upon hundreds of nuclear weapons were tested in the ocean. These tests are what killed 1/3rd of the sea creatures. Nukes are powerful enough to destroy entire cities, the damage it did underwater is unfathomable.

The final part of this is the mountain burning with fire that was cast into the sea. Some attribute this to volcanic activity, but this mountain of fire was the atomic bomb. The US dropped two of these bombs on Japan, which is a small island in the sea. We are in 95 AD, and John doesn’t know what an atomic bomb is, so his description of what he saw is a mountain of fire thrown into the sea.

3rd Trumpet – Chernobyl Powerplant Accident

Revelation 8:11 “And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.”

Chernobyl was one of the most catastrophic nuclear events, which many people feel could have been prevented. It was caused by a flawed reactor design, which made it unstable. The explosion of the powerplant shot radioactive chemicals into the air, which affected almost all of Europe. The Chernobyl incident released 400 times more radioactive material than the Hiroshima atomic bomb. Over 300,000 people died in Ukraine alone from radiation and drinking the water, which was made bitter from the chemicals. Over 34 years later, the radiation from Chernobyl is still an issue and thousands of people live in contaminated areas.

The word star used here, when translated from Greek, means “strown (or strewn/spread) across the sky”. We lose a lot of meaning translating words into English, so it is useful to check the Greek meaning of words. John saw a star, resembling something spread across the sky, which was the radiation from the bomb.

Lastly, the word “chernobyl” in Russian is the equivalent to the word “wormwood” in English. This is not a coincidence, God put in clues for us to figure it out.

4th Trumpet – The Gulf War

Revelation 8:12 “And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.”

The Gulf War was a short war, but it is significant in Bible prophecy. Near the culmination of the Gulf War, Saddam Hussein set over 700 Kuwaiti oil wells on fire. These wells started burning in February 1991 and the last fire was put out in November 1991. That is 10 months’ worth of nonstop pollution being released in the air. Due to this, the air quality and sunlight drastically decreased. In some areas, sunlight couldn’t even get through and the sky was completely dark at noon in some areas. Though it is impossible to know if this event blocked out 1/3rd of the sun, stars and moon, I believe it is a safe assumption that this unprecedented event fulfilled that prophecy.

5th Trumpet – The Great Recession

Revelation 9:1-12 “And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.”

Before I Continue…

I want to make it known that THESE ARE NOT PHYSICAL LOCUSTS! We know that these are not literal locusts because they come from the bottomless pit. From that alone, we know that these are demonic spirits. Abbadon, the destroyer, is a demonic spirit as well. The description of their appearance is not one of a natural locust, but one of a demonic creature. Lastly, these locusts are instructed to torment people and not touch the grass and trees. The only species whose main assignment is to torment humans are demons.

The Sun Darkened By The Pit

After that star the fell from heaven opened the pit, the first thing we see is that smoke came out of the pit, and the sun was darkened by the pit. On August 1st, 2008, there was a total solar eclipse. Solar eclipses darken the sun, and are signs in the sky. The total solar eclipse of August 1st, 2008 signified that the bottomless pit was opened, and the smoke darkened the sun.

CERN Opens The Portal For Locusts To Come Out Of The Pit

With the bottomless pit being opened, the demonic locusts came out of the pit. CERN opened the portal to the spirit realm with their Large Hadron Collider, which allowed for the demonic locusts to enter into the natural realm and cause issues. From 1998-2008 CERN worked on building the Large Hadron Collider. It was a particle accelerator, and one of the main purposes of CERN building this was to see if there were any other dimensions, and if they could reach them. Sergio Bertolucci, a director for research and scientific computing at CERN is quoted as saying, “The Large Hadron Collider could open a doorway to an extra dimension and out of this door might come something, or we might send something through”

CERN admits they were seeing if they could reach other dimensions, and we know that they were successful. They opened a portal to the spirit realm when they ran their Large Hadron Collider. It is not a coincidence that CERN first tested the collider on September 10th, and the crisis happened 5 days later. CERN’s involvement with the spirit realm is further highlighted in the fact that they have a statue of Shiva, a Hindu god. Shiva is the Hindu god of destruction, which lines up with the commander of the demonic locusts being Abaddon/Apollyon, who’s name means destruction.

In all, CERN opened a portal to the spirit realm with their Large Hadron Coillder, the allowed for demonic spirits to enter through and cause issues, and they have a statue of the destroyer outside their building, who the Bible says is the leader of these demonic locusts.

The Crisis Lasted 5 Months

The Great Recession was a time of economic downturn. The bubble popped on September 15, 2008, 5 days after the Hadron Collider was first tested, when Lehman Brothers filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The crisis raged on, but the economy was restimulated by the Recovery Act, which was signed on February 17, 2009. That time period is 155 days, which is exactly 5 months.

The first part of discussion is how it lasted 5 months. Many people claim the Great Recession lasted 18 months (November 2007 to June 2009), but the bubble didn’t pop until September of 2008, and it was resolved in February of 2009. Before the bubble popped, our economy was trending downwards, but we were not in the economic state of crisis that we were in after the bubble popped. While it can be claimed that everything wasn’t officially rolled out to end the recession until June of 2009, the bill was signed in February of 2009 and it was key in reviving the economy.

The Bible said that men would seek death and not find it. This is manifested through the fact that during the crisis, there was a spike in suicide hotline calls, yet a drop in reported suicides. There were about 568,437 calls to Suicide Hotline during the crisis, which is a drastic increase from 412,768 in the last report. Though there is conflicting data, most suicide hotline centers report a drop in successful suicides during 2007 and 2008. While there were obviously people who committed suicide, the fact that suicide calls rose, yet many reported a decline in suicide death is a fulfillment of men seeking death and not find it.

These demonic locusts tormented people for 5 months by attacking their idol; money. They didn’t have to physically harm people or even harm any agriculture. Attacking people’s money caused a lot of issues, as there are many people who’ve made money their god. The leader of these demonic locusts was Abaddon/Apollyon, who is the destroyer, and they destroyed the economy. These demonic locusts were allowed to operate for five months, and they caused one of the worst periods of economic downturn.

This was the first woe and it was a direct attack on those who made money their god. People loved money so much, that they were willing to die once they lost it. God is in control, and he alone is God, not money or any idol people try to make their god. This is the only woe that has hit the earth so far, but the 2nd is quickly approaching.

6th Trumpet – World War 3

Revelation 9:13-21 “And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.”

This is a future event that we can see setting up right now. The 4 angels bound on the Euphrates are 4 demonic spirits. There are also 4 countries that sit on the Euphrates river, that being Iraq, Iran, Syria and Turkey. There will be a war started here, and it will kill 1/3rd of the population, which is just over 2.6 billion people. Ezekiel 38 told us that Magog, which is modern-day Russia, would unite with a group of nations, which includes Iraq, Iran, Syria and Turkey. Psalm 83 further expands on the conspiracy against Israel, and how these nations would unite against Israel. These nations will unite against Israel, and will try to destroy them.

The reason I believe this will be a World War is that 1/3rd of the population will be killed. There are not even 2.5 billion people in Russia, Israel, Iraq, Iran, and Syria combined, so there have to be other moving parts. These nations are just the foundation of the conflict. I believe the US will be involved, especially if a country like Russia or China attacks them. The US is in conflict with Iran, which is a fundamental piece of this war. There will essentially be no winners of this war if 1/3rd of the population is going to die from this.

With tension in the Middle East rising, it is clear that this war is fast approaching. This war will change everything in the world, and strengthen the push for a world government where every nation gives us their weapons. This will impact every nation in the world in some way. I do not know when this will happen, but the plot is being set right now.

Arguably the worst part in all of this is that the people chose to stay in sin over repenting. The people will look to the antichrist and the United Nations for a savior, as opposed to looking toward God.

7th Trumpet – The Mystery of God Is Complete

Revelation 10:7 “But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.”

Revelation 11:15-19 “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.”

The 7th trumpet, 7th seal and 7th vial all convey the message of completion. 7 is God’s number of completion, which is why the seals, bowls and trumpets all have 6 judgments and some form of rest and completion on the 7th. This is the third woe, as the time for the world to be judged. There is no more time for repentance, and the sinners are in trouble. As for the saints, they will receive their eternal rewards. The day of God’s wrath will be an amazing day for those who repent and follow God, but a terrible day for those who sin and refuse to repent.
